Now that I have myself a vehicle, the fettling bug has started. Thought it was bad with bikes. I'm looking to upgrade the springs and shocks due to their age, and want to see what is recommended or not as the case may be, and where to get it. Not going to be going cross country, and going to keep to 16 inch wheels, once I find a set I like. Mainly going to be using it during the winter months. Reckon I won't spend any more than 500 quid.

OME springs (+1.5") and rough country shocks, work great on mine

Trying to find the OME springs, but keep coming up with Land Rover stuff. Will have to do some more searching. Will I need to change anything else such as driveshafts and bump stops, or is it just a matter of getting shocks and springs? Will be doing the work myself, as it isn't that hard of a job.

if you stick to the standard lift spring (40mm IIRC) you will only need shocks to go with them. OME shocks are good but big money, I use RC oil shocks not gas ones as they give a better ride

Are you looking to lift it or improve the handling?
-
Handling improvement, with a touch of lift. Want to keep it simple for the time being, and at a later stage may move up lift wise, but not a major requirement to get past 2" just now

will give him a ring tomorrow after I get my brake pipe fixed then

problem is RC only do a 2" spacer lift (which makes ya bus more wobbly) or a 3-4" lift, which means spending more than £500. Shocks are alright though

Got our TJ 2" OME lift supplied & fitted by Frogs Island 4x4, Abingdon a few years back, might be another avenue to try if only to check supply only prices :icon_winkle:
