Title: driving a ZJ in 4wd without rear drive shaft

Is it o.k to drive a 98 zj in 4wd without the rear driveshaft, will fluid leak from tc? I've heard it wont leak with 98. Only going to be for short runs and limited time until work on rear diff can be done.
