Hey,
Anyone know or have a picture as to how the the alternator is mounted on a AMC V8, I brought the brackets from the states (see pic below) I can figure out where the main bracket attaches but the small bent one is confusing me, any help would be appreciated.

Bubba,
No its defo a V8 one as it does line up on the waterpump bolt holes, my only worry now is that being a RHD Jeep the alternator mounting position may clash with the steering shaft, anyone no if my assumption is correct?
-
it wont fowl dood left or right hand drive

hope this helps but having a rad and fan in the way doesn't.

Mine are from a AMX/AMC Jevelin V8 I believe, however are said to fit all the AMC V8 series engines, I was looking for the CJ V8/wagoneer ones however this one turned up first at a much better price, as I said I have found where the main bracket fits its just the smaller bent one that I can't figure
-
on the AMX, looking head on the alternator sits below the left side manifold, on the Waggoner which is where most 360 engines that are fitted in CJs come from it sits above the manifold as in PM picture, also have a feeling there is an alloy casting that the bracket bolts to on the AMX thats not on the Waggoner. sorry to say although they share the same block, they are different beasties

these might help

Thanks guys, yeah I have it sussed now, seems I was missing a small 'Z' shaped bar but have it all hooked up now, just still a little concernedover the positioning of it with respect the the RHD steering shaft position, however time will tell
