Title: Front Axle Whine

Since Christmas the whine from my front axle is getting louder and louder.

However, three weeks ago at Pay and Play day the Vari-Lok was working fine.

Deafened as I am by the noise I took the diff cover off this week expecting to find the oil and the magnet full of metal fragments.

Surprise, Surprise, no metal pieces and everything looks fine.

Anybody any ideas what is causing the noise or what I should be looking for?

nope, but my f/axle whines too, I thought it was the rear axle  :100:

Check for play in the pinion bearings first.
