Down pipes fooked on the TJ...Astounded the exhaust has held up for nearly 7 years...
Got Caliper forthe ZG..getting it fitted next week
-
Its the manifold....
Think Ill buy a Kia...
-
Wash yer mouth out :003: :003:
-
Its the manifold...
fit a twinflex off the bay and its a common problem with the early TJ's, they crack
-
Sourced a manifold and gasket yesterday pm from a very nice man in Diss :greggmo: Should be with me tomorrow..
-
Just has to be done sometimes. Make sure it's a genuine or similar metallic type gasket not cheapo cardboard type - it's not the kind of job you want to do twice cos of inferior parts.
-
yep, its awkward fiddly for sure :icon_winkle:
-
So Ive read on posts...thats why its being done at a local exhaust specialist..
-
Great stuff...driving it back and started suffering intermittant power loss...damn Jeeps..
-
:banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

Will stick some more fuel in it..certainly revs like fuck when you manually tweak the accellerator cable....
Gaz...I still have a plan...
-
keep a small philipino under the hood to tweak u manually?
-
Update..help is needed ...Took the TJ out today...Drove @1.5 miles and put 2 1/2 gallons of petrol in..drove it @ 7 miles and engine started intermittently loosing power pressed accelerator and it picked up 3 miles later turning a corner in second gear it started intermittantly loosing power only worse this time thought it was going to stall dropped it into first and accelerated and it picked up but 200 yards later backing onto the drive it wasnt revving constantly pulled the accellerator cable and it started revving normally whilst it was put into the garage
Exhaust place dont appear to have removed inlet manifold all connections seem in place and air was going into the inlet and filter seems OK
Could it be the engine management system is 'learning' the new exhaust flow or is it possibly a sensor playing up
Oh and tried ignition on off on off on but no code came up
-
check they aint damaged the wire to the oxygen sensor in the downpipe, if not it sounds like throttle position sensor
have a nosey under the hood :icon_winkle:
-
:iagree:
-
Methinks O2 sensor...willhave a look tomorrow and see if it can be found..exhaust down pipe past manifold one believes....
-
Couldnt find any damage to any sensor so took it to a local Jeep specialist for a diagnostic and as I suspected its a fooked O2 sensor...
-
result
£20 for the sensor £120 for the garage to plug the puter in and tell you
