Hi, Went to a pay and play site yesterday and the TJ worked really well, surprised the inlaws how much fun offraoding can be. Any way as i set off for the 30 mile drive home i noticed vibes starting from about 30mph and steadily got worse. First thought was that it was stuck in 4wd did a few forward and back shunts and no change. The vibes start through the steering wheel and then seem to progress to below the front seats as the speed increases if that makes sense. Thinking now that may be a UJ is dying, i was going to disconnect the front drive shat to see if that was the source but cant see how to get at the bolts at the transfer case ened without removing the skid plate or am i missing something? all help as always appreciated.
Its a 4.0 TJ auto with 2.5 inch lift 1inch MML and 1inch body lift.
Have been off raod before with all the mods done and never had a problem with vibes.

clean the back of your wheels you got mud stuck in there.

:imwitstupid: :iagree: A few years ago i went to a pay and play, and there was even a jet wash that i used to get most of the crap off, anyway short trip down the road and onto the motorway, and it scared the shit out of me,the steering was so bad i thought a wheel was coming off.Pulled onto thje hard shoulder and got underneath.....only to find large clumps of mud on the inside of the alloys, stuck behind the spokes of the alloys.Where i had jet washed it from the outside,it had missed this mud.Cleaned it and all good again

Thanks for replies, i will have another look at the wheels and give the a blast. Hope its that simple.

I've also had it - now run BB pellets in the tyres - now run OK even with lumps of mud the size of half house bricks :icon_rolleyes:

As above, anything above 40 & I thought I was gonna end up in a hedge.
Memo to self, if you have the opportunity to jet wash the crap off, do it & dont forget the insides of the wheels :icon_winkle:

Thanks for advice. problem sorted, all wheels off and checked no mud or clods stuck to them but the front discs vents were full of mud a quick jet wash out and the vibes are gone.
