Ok I want to install my nice new HEI dizzy into the 360, I'm going to set the old one at TDC No. 1 and mark the position of the rotor etc, however on pulling the old cap I find there is no rotor arm. Can anyone tell me where the keyway sits on the rotor arm, i.e. at the front or the rear of the arm.

it dont realy matter as i see it get no 1 at tdc pull the old dizzy drop in the new hei and where the rotor arm sits is then ya no 1 if you think it looks ugly there ease it up and turn the rotor a bit then slip it gently back in you may need a large flat blade screw driver to adjust the o/p shaft but thats all
the ignition police wont come around and kill you if the rotor does not point to a patic location long as you have the leads right no 1 can be anyware it likes

Next question is the wiring, no informatio in the box, there is 3 wires coming from the dizzy going into the coil section, yellow, black, red however there is only 2 pins on the module to connect my wiring to. any ideas on what these are, my thinking is power feed and tacho connection?

does this help

Unfortunatley not as its specifically to do with the new HEI dizzy, can't believe there was no wiring diagram with the unit!!
-
I have 2 of these sittin at Kev's waitin to be dropped in so one of them may have a diagram, wait for a few hours until he is home
-
No rush Ade, just for future connection, just crazy that they didn't supply one with the unit
-
you just use any hot wire that goes off with the key and the other one use tach wire that was on the coil you can remove all of the old stuff
-
I know that side of it, its the actuall connections on the new dizzy that are not labled.
-
do you have a pic ?
-
Not at the mo, but if you look at the pic above you will see a small square box on the side of the dizzy (relay size), on one side of this the three wires (yellow, black, red) connect into, on the other side is two spade terminals, its these terminals that I'm unsure about, I believe that one is a 12v signal wire, and the other is the tach signal, the ground I think is through the body of the unit?

thats correct
