Title: TJ cage
Post by: willo on July 30, 2011, 11:28:51 AM
After a long time looking and nearly giving up the jeep, I have finally found a really useful company here on the island who do good work and are not too expensive, and can think 'outside the box'.

So at the moment they are fitting my new MSA spec P&P exo rollcage and relocating my exhaust so it comes out of the rear corner of the tub, here are some pics.

What a relief! :icon_biggrin:

Thanks  :greggmo: Fug Knows what I'm gonna do about the snorkel, its sounding like marine exhaust tube down the transmission tunnel, through a bulkhead fitting into the rear tub and up the back of the cab like current trayback D90's

Looking at your cage got me to looking at the MSA blue book ruling.............confusing aint it???

I see why you changed the rear hoop over driver (MSA).............. I do think MSA are confusing what we and you in winch challenge are doing at sub 10mph speeds to nutters with sponsorship doing Bowler related stuff???

Nice cage by the way.......... why not do it silver or nickel plate type colour?? Too many black cages out there.......

Just spotted the lights above screen.......... Is there some MSA..'who else' rules about welding brackets to the cage?

Maybe that's just the hoop over passengers?.............. See, one wet Sunday afternoon looking at MSA ruling and I'm more confused :icon_twisted:

the msa are a pita, apparently you cant weld tabs on to attach lights, hence mine are bolted on, and we ran out of time to make tabs up. So i am a little unsure how i am gonna sort out a roof etc, its interesting to note that on the kov technical regs for next year which will be an msa event, the need for one switch kills all has been removed :-)
As for colour, my cage will be painted lunar grey, and then baked on in an oven, i couldn't find a pot big enough to have it nickle plated or whatever its called, that gold stuff!

Have you thought about some injecter cleaner(petrol) in your tank, or if you get really desperate theres an xj in my local scrappy, i could pull an injecter out of that and bring it up if that helps? Or any sensers if u want

Yes mate Ive given up, I dont want to bring it down unless I know whats wrong with it and Ive run out of time.. thanks for the offers though.. The bilgewater stuff is to try and only drink half a dozen bottles instead of 28 tins of the watered down stuff , Im trying to look after my figure... :003:

That Wurth spray stuff is supposed to be good although a bit pricey last time I looked.. :greggmo:

dont worry about the ecu.... anyone can back me up on the amount of time spent in stupid mud or water and my ecu never complained.
you are talking about the computer on the firewall and not the one on the tranny tunnel in the cab? the one in the cab is airbags - which i removed but i took that one swimming many times before without any lights too.
