ive got myself a replacenent steering box for my 98tj. it came from and xj. all looks the same apart from the xj pitman arm is longer.
the tj has a 2 to 3" lift, so i was wondering which pitman are would be best?
-
what your looking for ideally is the steering rod to be parallel with the track bar. not sure of the difference between the tj and the xj tho'

i have xj pitmans on both of my TJ's and an xj box on one. Given the pain in the ass the arms are to remove i would fit the unit complete :icon_winkle:

I concur...

ZJ pitman arm is used in US as its longer and therefore if you do hi steer mods you'll still get full lock left to right..... something I never had on the YJ ......... :jpshakehead:
I found all this out after selling axles and going 1 ton............ :jpshakehead: I then decided to go full hydro..........
So I have a ZJ pitman arm drilled for 1 ton tre (tie/track rod ends) and weld in tube ends for 1 ton tre s if they are of use to anyone :icon_twisted:

thanks for the info :icon_biggrin:
