Title: correct oil pressure
Post by: just-boot-it! on September 21, 2011, 08:28:00 PM
Just wondering about the correct oil pressure on my 4.0 cherokee xj now its had a recent oil change the pressure hovers around one notch above half at normal driving . If I remember rightly before the oil change it was around halfway? Does it have too much oil in or is this usual? hmmmmm...

Sounds fine to me.

Just dip the oil on level ground if you're worried.

as long as the gauge is moving between the first and middle mark then your ok as these gauges are notorious for failing.

use the dipstick to check the level of oil. jeep on level ground and engine cold, pull out dipstick wipe clean and push back into place, pull dip stick out and read where the oil line is on the end. it should be around the ok mark, if it says add oil then add enough oil for the level to rise to ok
