I need to change the transmission oil on my 2000 WJ 4.0L but cannot find a supplier of the ATF+4 fluid. I have trawled through the forum and although there is a lot of discussion about it I cannot find any possible suppliers other than Jeep. Having looked at several other sites I have come to the conclusion that genuine ATF+4 is the only fluid that should be used. Is this a correct assumption? Also exactly how much is needed, the lubrication guide seems to have got a bit confusing on the WG/WJ section without any quantities. Thanks guys.

got mine from main dealer, wasnt to pricey either.
are you sure you need ATF4 in the 4litre box,
I thought it was only the RFE45 V8 box that needed ATF4

yep ATF+4 for the 4.0l

I buy my oils from http://www.opieoils.co.uk (http://www.opieoils.co.uk)
They list a few brands of ATF+4 but none of them appear on http://www.centerforqa.com/licensedatf4brands.html (http://www.centerforqa.com/licensedatf4brands.html) :017:

I've been using Horsham Car Centre for my Jeep bits - really helpful for mail order - they have an E-Bay shop for common bits like oils & filters too. Genuine Mopar stuff if that bothers you. Very, very good service. Phil in the parts dept. is a credit to parts departments everywhere.
I got the 5/20 Redline oil for the Hemi from Opie though. That was a tad pricey....

Just buy it from the dealer - consumables aren't expensive (you'll not find cheaper sparkplugs anywhere).
Other parts can be pricey, but even then it's always worth ringing them as occasionally they'll surprise you.

:iagree:
Most of the bits I have needed for my V8 have come from main dealer, cheaper than other places.
It was only the TCM on the CRD they were mental on price with.
