Title: 98 Grand Cherokee ZJ.... mirror programming
Post by: Pedroski on November 12, 2011, 03:03:53 PM
I've had my motor for coming up for a year and am still adjusting the mirrors every time I get in it! How the hell do I sort out the mirror presets? It's finally starting to drive me nuts  :icon_redface:

to do mine I set them where I want them then hold the set button on the door till the light flashes and then hold the 1 or 2 button depending on what remote I'm using, this should also set the seat and according to my owners handbook the radio but don't work for my radio for some reason

Aaarrgghhh, sweaty ballbags..... I still can't get it to work. The mirrors adjust properly, the set button on door flashes, I press the number button.....and still when I press unlock on the remote the mirrors and seat move again to the preset position of previous owner (who must have been a dwarf). This happens if I try setting 1 or 2...... tempted to rip some wiring out.......

The mirrors ar faulty, they all go like it, there's nothing you can do with them, New ones were £300 each in 1998.

Something I read somewhere was to move each mirror to each of its limits, all the way up, down, left & right - I dont think the order was specific!
Apparently they 'forget' where they are... Sounds logical to me but also sounds like it could be complete bollox.

But it improved mine for a while, they still get 'lost' occasionaly but it is better.
