Title: Choke plate positionng
Post by: IrishCJ6 on January 15, 2012, 09:29:43 AM
My choke plate on the 360 seems even when hot sitting pretty much flat (i.e. horizontal) if I loosen the 3 screws on the adjuster and rotate the body (leaner) then I can get it to open (vertical) but I have to rotate it way past the markings on the carb and then when it is cold its harder to start, is this normal and I'm just not use to seeing this or is something else wrong? any help appreciated. Oh and its a Motorcraft 2 barrel.

take the 3 screws out out carefully take away the round cup  and you will see the carb side has three positions for the coke shaft put it to its first leanest spot [they are normally in the middle spot] then re assemble and with engine cold reset so choke plate only just shuts

this is the kit I used (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Weber-manual-choke-kit-Converts-autochoke-manual-Fits-95-all-carbs-/160702702021?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item256aa0a1c5#ht_720wt_1398) easy fit but the cup is not the best quality, and you need to block off the vacuum heater
