Had a chap come look at my Cherokee and he said that the steering was vague. Now this is my 2nd XJ and they were both a bit vague. Its not lifted and has Goodyear ATs. I just thought they were all like that.
Are they not a bit vague as standard? I never noticed anything untoward myself.

its usually said by people who are used to running rack an pinion steering I would not worry about it!

Thanks. Its not long.had an mot so I would have thought if anything.was.worn in the steering it would show up as an advisory.
I always thought it was all part of the experience. What Alfa drivers refer to as "character" :)

If he thinks a Cherry has vague steering then he needs to try a CJ.
The XJ is like an F1 car in comparison.
It don't happen often but I've got to agree with Panic, sounds like he's never driven something without rack & pinion.

after spending the last three months driving a mondeo, now driving the jeep sand the steering is crap in comparison. once your used to it there is no reason for complaints.
