hey peeps,
I have the wiring harness from a '94 XJ that's being directed for my uni project and i have a few questions to ask
1. does anyone have a list / diagram of what each pin in the 60pin ECU connector is for so i know what i am about to removing.
and 2. what is this part of the wiring for?

theres a section at the top if the workshop forum for tech reference with plenty of links to online manuals etc, that would be a good place to start

I have become very familiar with the wiring loom on a 93 xj + 94 and a 90 xj having completed a recent transplant ..
The blue connector in the picture is for the TCM (transmission control module ) and the smaller one is for abs sensor under the back seat .
I do have a hand made drawing of where each of the wires goes or comes from for the engine ecu i'll have to find it :017:
What is your uni project ? I found most wiring diagrams to be no use as the wiring colours differ between each jeep even on the same year :banghead:

hi there
my uni project is to convert a CJ7 4.2L 258 from a carb to EFI to see how much power i can get from it.
as regards to the blue connector, do i need to keep it if i only want the loom to control the engine management? if not its got to go.
if you can find you DIY drawing that would be great, but if not i will struggle on with the wiring diagrams.

from my experience with engine swaps, best advice I can give is DON'T cut anything off yet, tape it off and mark as not used for now but don't remove anything till you got it running. it always comes back and bites you on the ass if you do

see if you can get hold of a wj inlet manifold....... they add up to 15hp over the older type, and the reason they are saught after.

The tcm controls the aw4 autogearbox .
still looking for my bible
I ditched the abs on mine as the 2 door doesn't have it and that was about 45 wires ..
just a taster of what i did .

did You remove the loom from an xj ?

I did get it out of an XJ and I'm looking to loose all the ABS, A/C, heated screens, light and the rest of the irrelevant stuff.
think minimalistic.

You'll fnd wiring diagrams in the online FSMs at http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm#service (http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm#service)

My bad i found my drawings but i've only got a fraction of the wires named .
i'll draw up the other connector i have which should help .
-
don't worry about it 'dtooth' i have found what i am looking for on that jeep4x4center.com (thanks Jonny jeep)
But i do however have another question for you guys, how do i attach the coil to the harness? I know it's a dumb question but i can't find a connection that fits onto the two prongs on the side of the coil that i presume are + and - . am i missing a bit or what?

there is a proper connector that looks like a half circle but you can just use 2 female spade connectors, sorry its a crude drawing but should give you an idea
