This pavement pounder realises that this question must have been asked a zillion times before...but did anyone ever have an answer?
Where the heck can I get a manual that deals with the 2.5CRD? I've used the search bit on here and been directed to a lot of old posts which contain nothing but doom and gloom. The Haynes manuals are not even good for toilet paper and the Yank manuals dealing with KJ's have every bloody motor except the 2.5. The Jeep dealers here just shrug and walk away!
I don't want to be able to perform major surgery or make it outrun a race car...just keep it running as she does now...smooth and quiet.
Anyone???

Have a look on www.lostkjs.com (http://www.lostkjs.com) and www.jeepkj.com (http://www.jeepkj.com), although I don't think the 2.5crd was available in the USA, so there won't be any service manuals for that engine, but the manual might be of use for other areas such as bumper removal etc.
I remember it took some finding since it was a link to a link etc.
-
Thanks for the effort mate, but, been there, done that..no luck. I've got all the good stuff on every part of the vehicle you can imagine..except this bloody motor!
-
The 2002 KJ FSM *DOES* cover diesel engines. You can get it on scribd here (http://www.scribd.com/doc/77640711/KJ-2002-Liberty-Service-Manual). That's probably as much as you're geing to get unfortunately.
-
Thanks Tim....got that one ages ago..covers 2.4 and 3.7 in detail..two or three mentions of a 2.5, but bugger all else. Makes me feel that I'm the only owner of a 2.5 in the world.
-
Call VM Specialist in Chesterfield, and ask if they know of any documentation.
-
Just received from Holland 3 PDF files via MSN
62MB 02 KJ General manual
6.24MB Liberty 02 parts identifier
4.5 MB technical manual on the 2.5 CRD
All looks pretty extensive. Too bloody late now to look at it all.
Would be handy for Birties as well if we can find a means of transfer.
-
Tim, is that VM specialists?...George? If so, I asked them about three weeks ago, but got no answer.
-
G'day Dutch
that sounds promising..are they in English? Let me know when you've had time for a closer read please.
Hey, have you still got your '03 KJ[same as mine] and if so, have you modded it up or anything. I just want to tizz mine up a bit with sidesteps and a nudge bar to hold my spotlights but having a bit of bother finding stuff that is affordable and good. Also, a set [4] of wheels so I can fit my summer tires. Any thoughts?
-
Hya Ripper :hysterical:
Yep still got the KJ ....the missus's truck. Got WJ - KJ & CJ now. Dont ask what they cost. :003:
Since its her truck no fooling around with bling & lifting and all that malarky.
I did however replace the standard alloys with the 5 spoke sport ones. I've still got the alloys lurking
around somewhere but pretty bad corrosion in places. Yours for a song if you want them but I'd use
them for winter tyres .
Have you got a Hotmail account + MSN. If so send me a PM with your email address, we can become 'friends' :greddy2smiley:. so I can transfer files to you via MSN.
Cheers

PM on the way mate. Friends eh?..........hmmmm.

Mornin' all
Just for general info, I got all the stuff from Dutch last night and have to say it is awesome...pretty much all anyone wants to know about the 2.5 CRD. Huge files with heaps of stuff..I'm best pleased with it all.
My personal thanks Dutch....eleventy million out of ten for you. :icon_super: :icon_super: :icon_super: :icon_super: :icon_super: :icon_super: :icon_super: :icon_super:

dutch is a top nice guy
-
:icon_redface: you make me blush :icon_biggrin:
Bazz very glad it's all there and very happy to help another Birty out.
Moderators & puter/website techies : I've got 3 files 4.5 - 6 & 62MB that I transferred to Bazz
with MSN messenger. Maybe an idea to put them in the Workshop manual section for all to see.

The service and parts manuals are common enough, but the CRD specific manual is the holy grail. The best place
for it would probably be on scribd, but feel free to create a new post in the tech library saying 'heres the 2.5CRD
manual' and attach it, in much the same way you attach pictures.

I'm in same situation bgbazz, although mine is the 2004 2.5 Crd...bloody nightmare, probebly find little green irish mans gold before i find a manual for this cherokee

The stuff that Dutch put up deals with the motor very well..think it's listed under tech reference manuals or something like that. What exactly are you searching for?
Just another place you can look is the 'Australian Jeep Off Road' Forum (AJOR) ..they have a section just for KJs and as a few of their members own 2.5crds, there is a wealth of knowledge there.
-
Had any joy finding what you're after?
-

Have a read of what I've posted above....you will find the link to another forum more helpful than you could imagine! The Birties are not very much into KJs which are powered by VM CRD type lumps, but the rest of the world is...and there is a heap of info out there. :icon_winkle:
Thank Dutch for providing the inspiration for me to go looking... :icon_super:

You're welcome....but as luck has it, Mr General Confusion has just given you all another choice today. He has very kindly provided everyone with access to a wide range of manuals.
