Tranny re-gear sounds like gender re-assignment to me - I think you might need to see other websites for that :098:
P.S. You can buy kits to fit a lower low-range in your transfercase depending on which one you have but that only makes you go slower offroad and is good for crawling. Never heard of anyone messing with gear box gears.

them folks with green badges re gear from the trany :wsmile:
cant afford to start messing with diffs, but as my box is out thought some one may have a
cheap idea for me :icon_winkle:
-
it will probably be just as expensive.
-
i would have expected ya best bet to be a fancy transfer case atlas kind of thing them landy boys might well tinker with there cogs but i dont recal any parts for doing this or anyone who has done it unless they improved lots ther boxes were utter tat and always in bits that was my experience workin in a dealers as mechanic and historically as clubman in a few clubs

If you can do it yourself................ then regear your 231 with 4 to1 gears from Lo Max................. Don't use Terra Lo cos they have a bad rep at the moment in the US................. :icon_twisted:
-
Some Yanks do put massive old-school truck gearboxes with mega-low first gears into Jeep build but usually just for the really low crawl speed

LR do different ratio transfer cases (on the high ratio), plenty of off the shelf options. Not an option for a jeep.
