Title: Shock absorbers to suit a KJ with no lift.
Post by: bgbazz on February 21, 2012, 05:37:23 PM
Has anyone recently fitted shocks to their standard [no lift] KJ? If so, what brand did you go for and roughly what did they cost you? Are you happy with your choice? My '03 is in need of a new set and I'm stumped trying to find anything decent. I would usually go for Monroe Wylie or Koni, but can't find a supplier here. The OME stuff is very good, I know and if I was back in OZ, that's what I'd go for, but the prices here mean that they must be solid gold, diamond encrusted with a hundred year warranty!!

Anyone.....?

OK, did that. Front pair, 1010 pounds, rear pair 880 pounds..delivery time four months! And the prices don't include tax. The bloody Jeep isn't worth that. And that is from the only Jeep supplier in this country, hence the question.

I'm gunna have to do something..this is getting beyond a joke. The dealer seems to think that anything over two years old isn't worth bothering about. Thanks for the advice anyway.

Promise you great weather during those months. Any idea how many folk are interested...at this stage just a ballpark figure is fine. And roughly how long you want to stay? Between now and then, have a think about any specific things or places you want to do or see and I'll be able to work out a rough,  realistic plan of action that won't involve you all sitting in a car seat the whole time.

If you're serious about bringing my shockers over, just let me know and I will order and pay for them. The supplier offers free delivery to a UK address, so I can have them delivered at a time and place convenient to you. I could fill a trailer with things on my "wish list"
As a matter of interest, one could probably make a few quid bringing over bits and bobs that aren't found here...just a thought.

If I wasn't serious I would not offer - shocks are not a problem - I'm not so interested in bits-n-bobs but will bring what you need, I will have space (I think). I'm connected to wholesale food produces from supermarkets tell me what you need and it will be done.

I'm going to use this trip as a shakedown for the expedition 75 Troopy I'm in the process of building - so date wise I'm flexible and will be mostly independent for my needs - will gladly tag along any tips you have planned.

Looking forward to it now.
