Title: baby seat for 02 KJ
Post by: momos on February 22, 2012, 10:54:41 PM
Hi, so last time we did the baby seat thing it was a nitemare and i struggled with my back.
Does anyone know if an 02 KJ can take an isofix base the seat clips into? or where I can find out?
aparently the car needs some special floor thingy.
thanks in advance  :icon_biggrin:

I beleive Iso fix baby seat mounts are purely available on eu  cars , so don't beleive the american cars have them installed. Our 02 pt cruiser doesn't have them for sure

I think they do have IsoFix.

Have a feel in the gap between the backrest and base cushions of the seat, there should be steel loops for the seat to lock onto, o go to Halfrauds, they'll have someone trained on child seats who can check for you.

Mike....Momos is about to give birth... prodding around under KJ seats may not be in the logistically possible mix...... :hysterical:

Momo's

The Jeeps have lash points not isofix. We had this problem in the WJ and went for a 0 - 4yrs car seat that uses the seatbelt.

we tried everywhere and no one even registered the Jeep on their system.

ISOFIX is the international standard for attachment points for child safety seats in passenger cars. The system has various other regional names including LATCH ("Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children") in the United States and LUAS ("Lower Universal Anchorage System") or Canfix in Canada. It has also been called the "Universal Child Safety Seat System" or UCSSS.

thanks guys, went for a belt in base that the seat clips onto in the end, seems easy enough......just need something to put in it!

The way you are going on this baby will be so big you wont need a baby seat it will be delivered and then taken straight to junior school to learn how to read and write :icon_biggrin:
