Only info i could find for an AMC 3.8
100 hp (74 kW) and 185 ft·lbf (250 N·m)

This looks useful for info on Jeep engines

I've got 5.9lt in mine and Dan (my son) has a 2,5lt in his CJ and last time we had both trucks at the same site at the same time there wasn't anything his couldn't do that mine did, except sound nice

its more down to torque and how you use it

don't worry about it your cj will go a lot more places   than a landrover of similar age lol, plus his will probably end up as a parts cars for some git who needs bits for his.
