Headlight module for a 94 Cherokee XJ.
(https://birtydastards.com/frm/proxy.php?request=http%3A%2F%2Fi132.photobucket.com%2Falbums%2Fq11%2F300bhpton%2FGeneral%2520Car%2520Pics%2FJeepHeadlightswitch.gif&hash=2512d3fe0469dafca2baf10278738391128720f3)
Old one is on the right and you can see blade connector at the end of it, the new one doesn't have this, but has two connectors near to the other end. My questions:
1. What did the connector do on the old unit (it was plugged in)?
2. Which connector is the right one to re-connect it to on the new module?
I've got the new module fitted and headlights, sidelights, mainbeam, rear lights, dash lights and dash dimming lights all seem to be working. The only thing I've not tested is the headlight timer delay.
Thanks for your help.

looks like an earth to me so I would just attach it the the spade on the new one that is earth.

Don't know for sure but the top one on the old unit looks like an earth terminal
which from the picture looks to match the left terminal on the new one
Beyond that i would have to see them "in the flesh" so to speak.

The blade connector is the earth connection for the courtesy lamps, so they come on when the switch is turned fully anti-clockwise. If you have a multimeter you can check for continuity between the spades on the new switch and the pin the yellow wire goes to at the main connector. If you don't have a multimeter just try the one that looks like it earths the switch body. Either the lights will come on, or they won't - and you might blow a fuse.

Seems to be the clock illumination for when the headlights are on, or at least that's the only thing that doesn't seem to work. However there is pretty much no way to re-attach the plug on either of the forward connectors with the switch module in situ.

if its the same wiring as a mk 1 there is a single brown lead that appears to go nowhere with a bare spade terminal that connects to it.
