I 've got a problem with a sticky gear shift when going from reverse to park. I have to jiggle the stick backwards and forwards to get it to move. it's almost like the spring or something needs lubrication. Is there some way of getting to the bottom of the stick to see what the problem is ???

Replace the NSS.
-
Okay, I give up. Whats an NSS ????
-
neutral safety switch
-
It part of the shift lever mechanism, It wont let you start the car unless its in park or neutral. It also illuminates your reversing lights when reverse is selected :icon_winkle:
-
if your lucky it might just need adjusting slightly
-
Okay........ Now where do I find it and, can I do it myself or, have I got to go to my local stealer for them to nick all the money out of my pocket ????
-
This might help.

Thanks for your help. I think this may beyond me so I will have to pay the local stealer.

That'll be Carrs in Indian Queens then :icon_winkle: nearest proper dealer is in Bournemouth :icon_eek:
Where are you in Kernow then ? (just curious)

I wouldn't use Carrs again. They sold me the Jeep and 6 months later failed it on an M.O.T. and wanted £1100.00 to fix it.
I took it to my local garage and he did the work for £250 which was only two front discs and pads.
I live in Illogan Downs between Redruth and Camborne about 1.5 miles from Porthreath on the North Coast.
What about you ?
