Hello
have a few questions you may be able to answer for me?!
The p/s pump on my xj is audible (the sucking sound usually heard on full lock) but when cornering, does this sound like an air leak or is it normal, and should I have topped up with a/t fluid??
Also the steering box really needs adjusting, does it have to be removed from the vehicle as it says in my manual, looks a bit involved?
And.. should I need an athletes left leg to be able to press the clutch?
1st jeep, tell me these are all charecteristics!

it must be loud if you can hear it while driving.....& that doesnt sound good!! Also, as far as I am aware, its not recommended to use ATF in the powersteering either.......
I have never heard of haing to remove a box to adjust the steering, but I havent had to do mine.....yet!!!
i dont think the clutch should be that heavy either, but if its been replaced they might have put a heavy duty one in.......
Someone else will be along with their thoughts before long, no doubt...

Being under your foot is enough to depress anyone........

Sounds like your low on ps fluid, check it and top up.

Use Mopar power steering fluid for all models unless specified otherwise for your model. Some later models now use Mopar ATF+4. This is acceptable as an alternative in earlier models if the system is to be drained and refilled. Do not use Dexron type ATF.
Might be worth draining the fluid out & refilling with fresh ........

i have used nothing but atf in every jeeps steering i have ever owned at least 20+ i aint yet had a problem ummm dunno dont think i ever bought pas fluid
