Hi Folks.... Took the Jeep for its MOT and my poor baby FAILED!  :cry:  Needed new front brakes which was ok! well... sort off,  til i was told the price!!
However.... Upon taking it elsewhere to get the work done i was informed thet my Anti Roll Bar Bushes had "Gone" on both sides. Fair enough i gues! Drove it back to get the Re-test to get the MOT (It Passed)and while driving home there was a big "Snap" sound and it is now making a very nasty "Clunk" and its very wobbly!! As you can see from my description this is the full technical term for it!  :?   :lol:

Does anyone know if this sounds like the Bushes "Going"??
Any info would be gratefully appreciated!

hi,from experience,when i leave my disconnects off so disconnecting the anti-roll,the car can drive a bit "wobbly" but i would be worried about the "snap" as it would indicate something breaking rather than just dodgy bushes. :(  :(

i went very wobbly when i broke my stink bone once
i think you have to take it back to who ever did the repair
and tell them you are very unhappy and you work for trading standards

sound like 1 of the anti roll bar links has snapped or come adrift

I'm with daggie,

Disconnected/broken anti roll bar drop link, this has happened to mine before. Sounds worse than it really is if that makes you feel any better!

Good excuse to get some disconnects now.........

Thanks everyone. I feel a bit better now.  :?  I will see what happens after the bushes have been fitted!
Out of curiosity tho...... Should the MOT place have checked this for it to pass its MOT as it wasnt mentioned by them. It was only picked up by the people who replaced the brakes.  :?

Hi Diva

Welcome back.

I'd agree with Craig and Daggie, it sounds like a anti-roll bar link has gone. Probably the bolt on the top has snaped off :thinking:

As for the MOT tester spotting the bushes, if he thought they were Ok then he wouldnt have failed them. He would not know if the bolt was going to break, that can happen if the bushes are good or bad, I've had it happen to me.

There's a TV4x4 pay'n'play event at Gerrards Cross this Sunday. That's not too far from you. I'll be there trying out my new YJ for the first time since I've had it. I think it broke last time out, and the time before, and the time before........... :oops:

Was it you that I met at Pingewood (with Trent and J66P) back in October?
