What would people say was a good tyre for mainly road use for a 96 4.0l GC. I was thinking of Goodyear ATR's as that what was on before. I need all 4 replacing and dont want to spend a fortune but also want a decent tyre on.

Mike

Suggest
General A/T's
Cooper Discoverys
BFG (they are expensive but last a long time)
If remoulds are of interest folk say a lot of good things about Colways
-
Thanks for the reply
By the way my existing tyres are Goodyear Wrangler HP's not ATRs as i said before.
-
IMHO General Grabber AT2's are good. Good on and off road.

.
Ran my rangie on Colways for nearly 4yrs,alot of that was off road use as well.apart from being abit noisey they were very very good,.
Did a high speed run down to Southern Spain, cruising at around the 80mph mark,no problemo...good tyre matey.

I have good year wrangler ATs on my ZJ at the mo, great on and off road they seem just fine but thats all ive ever had so i cant compare them with anything else.
I think when the time comes i might try the grabbers or the Colways
-
Ive had colway at's also, v grippy and good off road but wear down quite quickly, who cares when they are half the price of bf goodrich.
Curently have general grabber aw, seem ok on the tarmack but wouldnt think they would be much good off rd, cheap though!
