Title: Short shaft conversion rear prop question?

There is a collar half way down with a grease nipple on it, the shaft has a small taper on it next to it, the collar is loose and will move up the shaft, tried to hit it back on the taper but will not go, any thoughts ?

sounds like the coller that keeps the slider clean to me

That's right, it is, is it fitted on the taper?
