Title: Not a Jeep, Dads Freelander.
Post by: jay140285 on April 29, 2012, 12:43:58 PM
Dad has got a 2007 Freelander TD4 SE.

Friday night whilst out in it the speedo / RPM / Fuel gauges all went off, upon turning the car off the radio and sat nav remained lit up.

When we went to turn the car on there was nothing, The surround to the key is lit up as is the stop / start button but nothing happens.

Some of the windows are working then they will change and what is powered changes i.e. drivers side front and rear windows are working with key in or out, then its the passenger side that works.

Doors are intermittently locking remotely, then they don't open then they do, or just the drivers door unlocks.

Checked all fuses nothing has gone, battery is ok.

Any one got any ideas where to start, I have plugged my ODB2 in the car but its reading Link Error. I know the ODB2 works as I have had it on the freelander previously.

I know its not a jeep but someone may have an idea.

Land Rover Forum was useless.

Sounds like either an earthing fault or a body control unit fault (if it has one)

Amusing there is such a unit search for the resetting procedure and try that.

also check and clean/tighten up any and all earthing points and try unplugging and reconnecting
any ecu's body modules etc.
