Hi all.
I am new here and have just bought my wife a 2002, 3.7 Jeep Cherokee to replace her previous car. It looks great sat next to my Jeep Grand Cherokee :icon_biggrin:
There is a fault where the heater fan doesn't operate on positions 1 & 2 but works fine on speeds 3 & 4. I have been told that this is the Heater Resistor and have ordered a replacement. Can anyone please tell me where I find this device in the car? I have had a quick look around but to no avail.
Many thanks in advance

Welcome Keith,
I cannot help but some one will be able to soon.
Oh and once you go Birties that it, your doomed.

From what I've been told, the resistor pack fits just behind switch itself, so it's off with the center facia. :)

Thanks for that. I guess I will have no hair left after this..... How does the center facia come off, I can't see a way....?

Again, from what I've been told, the wood facia 'just pops off' when ya slip a screwdriver behind it.
I need mine done, but as luck would have it the resistor pack for the xj is £57 !

On most cars ive found that the heater resistor sits somewhere in the ducting near the blower motor so that the air flow keeps it cool, but then again this is a Jeep we are talking about so good luck finding it :icon_biggrin:

A member of another 4X4 forum told me where to find the resistor. I dropped the glove box by letting go the two clips at the sides and the resistor is right there in front of you. Undid two screws and pulled it out, replaced it and fitted the new one. Tested it and all is well now in the blower department.
Thanks to all those that contributed :)
