I have a 1998 Grand Cherokee 4.0 Ltd. LPG converted, which runs beautifully, except for one minor issue.
Whenever I go on the motorway after approx. 6-8 miles the "check engine" light comes on but with no effect on performance or anything else. I have done the trick with the key and no codes show.
I re-set the indicator by removing the + lead on the battery with no further indication until the next time I go on the motorway.
This is just an irksome minor problem but it gets on my tits that I can do 200 miles commuting and pottering around with no problems but after 10mins on the motorway, this damned light comes on.
Any ideas anyone?

My first thought would be to find out what the code is before resetting the MIL lamp.

I get that shit on me Bronco sometimes, run it on petrol for a couple of miles and it disappears for the rest of the journey.
That's as far as me investigation went but maybe worth a try.

Just a though and may be wrong
have you drained the lpg vaporizer
you undo the drain screw on the bottom of it

over heating

you sure it runs the same on lpg v petrol?
Had that on mine but it was a single spark plug not copin with lpg

:iagree:
Had the same but it was an HT lead not coping with LPG at high speed. Fine with petrol. New set of leads, problem sorted.

Interestingly I give it a blast 1st thing this morning at 90 mph on the motorway on petrol and the light did not come on.
