bizarre how a Jeep that started on the button is turnin out to be so wonky
-
not that i have seen the jeep or know the chap jedi has found but i have found that you could take an old jeep to several places or folk and get several very differing opinions on repairs

could you not use the alternator from an xj and associated bracketry and serpentine belt for an improved system
-
dont think that will work the yj 4.2 had a serpentine set up but the water pump was reverse rotation to the cj version
-
our 4.2 has the normal v belt set up!
-
it may be but when they went serpy they changed
-
dont worry chaps i have sorted from lighthouse a new one OUCH!!!

Impatient Jeeper, could of saved you some money Jedi, they are £110 +Vat brand new from these nice people http://www.woodauto.com/ (http://www.woodauto.com/).
-
:003: Go on then Jedi - how much did lightys charge ya?
-
If i remember correctly they wanted £180ish +vat when i asked :jpshakehead: . The earlier motorola ones are £80+vat for some reason
-
As above :-(
-
You can't use an XJ one anyway, it is unregulated and would fry the electrics.
-
Well I didn't even get one with my 360 from BD :003: So I went to the wreckers and found one to suit, I found that a Suzuki Larana (spelling wrong) fitted once I changed the front pulley from multi to V, its also a 100amp version so plenty of grunt. You can make almost anything work it just takes time and patience to find the right one.
