anyone running them?
Im thinkin the Molotov could do with some, the noise is awesome but is just a tad too attention seeking, even for me :003:
Plus of course back pressure etc
Seems good for the money, and ifsja reviews are ok altho 'a little loud' but as my pipes are straight thru I figure the 'loud' will be subjective
-
i guess these are cheaper than fitting out the Molatov with a 6 person intercom system so you can talk to each and 6 ipods.

Do they involve Megan Coxx?
-
and while im at it, is there any reason why I cant run a 'one in & one out' on each exhaust pipe rather than buying a 'dual in & dual out' box?
-
get a custom system made m8, a good builder will make it sound how you tell him you want it and get the pressures right
-
usual cash flow problems mate, so its heath robinson for now coz unfortunately I dont have a pet exhaust builder
have a mate that runs flowmaster 40 on a 360 and the sound is is a nice rumble (altho a little quiet), but he is also on stock manifolds whereas im on hedmans, and the thrush system is meant to be a rip off the the F40 system so seems a logical step but I would hate to waste dosh when I have a regear to pay for this month as well
plus a load of little jobs as well
-
On XJ forums the Flowmaster 40 is considerd a bit noisy for some so I 'm gueesing yours is a bit noticeable at the moment?
-
Well as i drive gently thru a car park i am serenaded by a chorus of car alarms :003:
-
My Tj has a 4.7 stroker in it with a 2.5 inch exhaust. When I four linked the rear I had to drive it a few days with open exhaust, load it was an my neighbours loved me going to work at 4am!
Tried a dynomax and hated it
Next flowmaster, still loud
Finally I ended up with a good old fashioned Thrush. Sounds good without being obnoxious and it is cheap.
Mine is only a six with a single exhaust but it does get noticed by the Landy crowd.
-
That is gettin good enuff for me then, I love the 1000 gatlin guns sound as i floor it but its also gonna b a major plod magnet
-
how many piped you got out the back on each side? got an idea brewing
-
no don't give him idea's lol :banghead: :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:
-
I have a pipe comin out of each side behind the rear wheel
-
Same as below but one each side
-
Go for it....Ade
4 rocket launchers out of each side...... Oh yes :icon_super:
-
was thinking about somethink like I had on an old Triumph Vitesse, a Y gated system one side was quiet for street use and the other was open and loud with a cabled control lever in the cab, loads of fun at the lights :icon_super:
-
i'm running a flowmaster 70 with 3 inch pipes, which gives a nice burble, the forties won't sound much quieter than what you have, a lot of videos on you tube for comparison.
A double flow master 70 or 90 might be best still a nice sound IMHO.

Im thinkin this:
thrush mufflers (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Thrush-17656-welded-high-performance-2-50-Chamber-muffler-Chevy-Ford-Mopar-V8-/230816838358?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item35bdc172d6#ht_841wt_1037)

looks like a super 40 clone not a lot of silencing i would suspect and practically no back pressure. Sound files on the web pages

I had another look underneath and I do have some sorta cherry bomb type silencer built into the pipes :017:
-
Embarrassing Bodies - Thrush for 9 years (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QpD9GXKVEU#)
-
I have to admit STD was my first thort :003:
Im after more a rumble
-
I have one of these on the Mafia..... Spintec (http://www.spintechmufflers.com/)
-
is the cost in gold bars?
-
I have 40's on mine, one either side and I love the sound of mine, its loud in an enclosed space but driving it is almost normal just a nice burble. Each to there own :icon_super:
-
Go SS streight through and be done with it!!
-
:iagree:
stop pissing about and do it right, doing half assed now is just a waste of cash
-
easy to say when you have a tame custom exhaust builder who does mates rates for ya
-
go get a quote, you may be surprised, and don't forget to drop in the conversation that you have a full stable all waiting to be done :icon_winkle:
or come across to Bristol and get it done
-
Just fitted a thrush welded, ain't a lot of silencing but better than straight out the cat which is what I had previous.
Can't go wrong at the moolar IMHO.
-
I run a large cherry bomb on my cj7 it has a nice rumble at low revs :003:
-
Cat then 18" cherry bomb is about my loud limit, possibly a bit much for landing and driving through sleepy French villages but god fun blipping the throttle and driving through tunnels and offroad

My thoughts exactly - I love my Thrush (haha!) :003:
