Title: Thrush mufflers
Post by: Bulldog67 on July 11, 2012, 10:52:32 PM
anyone running them?

Im thinkin the Molotov could do with some, the noise is awesome but is just a tad too attention seeking, even for me  :003:

Plus of course back pressure etc

Seems good for the money, and ifsja reviews are ok altho 'a little loud' but as my pipes are straight thru I figure the 'loud' will be subjective

i guess these are cheaper than fitting out the Molatov with a 6 person intercom system so you can talk to each and 6 ipods.

and while im at it, is there any reason why I cant run a 'one in & one out' on each exhaust pipe rather than buying a 'dual in & dual out' box?

get a custom system made m8, a good builder will make it sound how you tell him you want it and get the pressures right

usual cash flow problems mate, so its heath robinson for now coz unfortunately I dont have a pet exhaust builder

have a mate that runs flowmaster 40 on a 360 and the sound is is a nice rumble (altho a little quiet), but he is also on stock manifolds whereas im on hedmans, and the thrush system is meant to be a rip off the the F40 system so seems a logical step but I would hate to waste dosh when I have a regear to pay for this month as well

plus a load of little jobs as well

My Tj has a 4.7 stroker in it with a 2.5 inch exhaust. When I four linked the rear I had to drive it a few days with open exhaust, load it was an my neighbours loved me going to work at 4am!

Tried a dynomax and hated it
Next flowmaster, still loud
Finally I ended up with a good old fashioned Thrush. Sounds good without being obnoxious and it is cheap.

Mine is only a six with a single exhaust but it does get noticed by the Landy crowd.

was thinking about somethink like I had on an old Triumph Vitesse, a Y gated system one side was quiet for street use and the other was open and loud with a cabled control lever in the cab, loads of fun at the lights :icon_super:

i'm running a flowmaster 70 with 3 inch pipes, which gives a nice burble, the forties won't sound much quieter than what you have, a lot of videos on  you tube for comparison.

A double flow master 70 or 90 might be best still a nice sound IMHO.

looks like a super 40 clone not a lot of silencing i would suspect and practically no back pressure. Sound files on the web pages

Just fitted a thrush welded, ain't a lot of silencing but better than straight out the cat which is what I had previous.

Can't go wrong at the moolar IMHO.

Cat then 18" cherry bomb is about my loud limit, possibly a bit much for landing and driving through sleepy French villages but god fun blipping the throttle and driving through tunnels and offroad
