Beaten track I know ... yada yada yada...
So with the WJ now fully in motorway mode and no mud within a mile on Monday morning or Friday afternoon my tyres are up for replacement before autumn.
Now running Pirelli Scorpions A/T 235/65/17 108T (tyre code E4 0225252.S) well travelled but when I bought them I had 5 so 1 new one sitting in the rafters of the garage.
Sensible, money saving thing to do is to buy 3 new SAME ones....and happy days, but on the bay no joy. Only worn ones that they hosed down before they took the pic.....what's that all about. Also googeling I can't find them so I guess mine are out of production.
Second option is to go full road tyre. Any tips on prices & brands ?
Thanks.

You need matching ones to avoid 4wd issues.....look at General Grabber ATs...

If its pretty much 90% roadwork, I have general grabber UHP's on der panzer. Done 30k on them & they still have 4-5mm tread left, not bad for a 2.5 tonne car.
They also performed admirably on the heavy snow 18 months ago. When VW used to run Touareg experience days, all of the fleet were fitted with these tyres, only one had muds & a winch fitted on.
Original fit michelins & Pirellis range between 10 - 15k as stated on panzer forum.
Hope this helps

I know very little about tyres, and have never had any off-road tyres to compare with, but for on-road and gravelly stuff my General Grabber HTS' seem to be pretty good - they certainly seem better than the Goodyear Eagle GAs that were on before. :greggmo:
