Title: Which XJ do I buy??
Post by: kevinthetank on August 06, 2012, 10:28:40 PM
Ok,
I'm looking to buy a Cherokee XJ as a shooting vehicle and have the following choices:
R reg "Limited" 2.5TD with 80k on the clock (£2k)
V reg "Limited" 4.0 auto with LPG, 98k on the clock (£900)

Both are in great condition and exactly the same spec. Loving the auto in the 4.0, not sure how conveniant LPG will be though.
heard some horror stories about the diesels so dont know what to believe!

(I'll probably be doing a maximum of 100 miles a week by the way).

Any thoughts from anyone?? :017:

What they said ^^^

Fill the petrol and the LPG. When the LPG runs out , use the petrol to get you the filling station  :icon_winkle:

Do Not Touch the Diesel.

I run LPG and have no issues obtaining the LPG at all.

As said just keep for petrol in as a back up.

Cheaper to run and service the petrol then throwing money on the diesel. Been there and owned both

i heard the best are petrol, lpg converted should be advertised in section "damaged" heheh. just joking. heard a lot of bad opinion about diesels and ... if something goes wrong -what i read with xj in diesel you can be sure it will- you spend your little fuel saving in the garage. maybe will need spend more than save.
