My 2001 TJ has just spat its dummy out and blown the PCM.(ECU)
A new one is @ £800 from the dealer.
Can anyone give me advise on recon PCMs from the States. Are they compatable with UK Jeeps? Are there immobiliser issues? Can you recommend a supplier ?
Any advise welcome, I need cheering up.

Think IOM has the low down on this with US ones prefered over here due to the fact if ya stall you dont have to hit the fob to unlock and bollix. Far simpler, but someone will be along soon to give you details and possibly serial nos etc.

You could always try Jon Daunter 01594564600 they are breaking one. You maybe lucky
Or follow this link they may have one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JEEP-WRANGLER-2000-4L-P-S-DOOR-HANDLE-BREAKING-/160665469127?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item25686880c7 (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/JEEP-WRANGLER-2000-4L-P-S-DOOR-HANDLE-BREAKING-/160665469127?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item25686880c7)

Thanks for the replies. THe problem with used PCMs is they have the immobiliser built in. You need dealer level computers to program them to your car. As I understand it, UK dealers wil only program new PCMs.

If you can get a UK PCM and the twinned SKIS module/keys that should get round that problem.

or just buy a US one and plug it in and throw away the fob!
