Title: are xj engine all the same ????

ok all i have a xj .4.0 which needs a engine just need to know does the engine from a early pre facelift like 199a fit a facelift 1998/1999 i know the manfolds and sensors will have to swop but the standard block/head/sump the same fitment

I'm not sure but think they are. Have got a 94 engine here with blown head gasket going for scrap which you :ace: could have if any use to you.

Not sure on the year they changed (2000ish) but the block mounts/castings changed.
Fozzy over at jeepey had this problem. He bought a super duper fantasmo motor an then couldn't fit it!

I think pre 2000ish are the same.

Be careful what you go for!!!! Sorry cant be clearer!

My 94 has facelift motor in it,no issues,was a 2000 model.If you use the head it has to be tapped for the earlier temp sender at the back of the head,facelift one had no hole. :017:
