Title: Squeaking rear end on a 3.7 KJ Cherokee
Post by: mrtibbs on September 27, 2012, 05:59:17 PM
Hi all
Please help my sanity :) My wife's 3.7 ltr KJ Cherokee has a rather annoying squeak coming from the rear end when going over bumps or turning hard, ie into a parking space, especially noticeable when reversing... Can anyone shed any light on this please? I think it may be shockers but I'm not sure enough to swap them.
TIA

get under it with a big screwdriver/small pry bar and move the upper A arm about, see if there is any moement in it. Sometimes easier if you jack the body up & put it on axle stands to take some weight off the suspension, bushes are usually easier to spot than the ball joint (from my experience you will see the centre part torn from the outer part)
