Little birdie told me these might be an issue at the next MOT in March.
Don't even know where to find them or what they look like. :icon_eek: Scrw ? anybody ?
Offside/fwd CV joint
Front ball joints
Gear selector lever seal on gearbox
Rear anti rollbar droplinks
Front/Rear controll arm bushes
And a couple of pointers for spannering on these bits
Thanks.

all are easy except the ball joints, they can be a PITA
Control arm bushes can be expensive, the oval void bushes are about £20 a pop (you need 8 )
Rear drop links are about £35 the pair, easy fit though
CV joint IIRC is about £40 odd, or do an exchange on the complete shaft for around £80
I get most of my stuff from my local factors, drop links more than likely Lighthouse or Mansfield, same with bushes.
If no rush get em from the US it will be cheaper

hardest part I found doing the ball joints was getting the hub bearing off,
11 years old and not much left of the bolt heads. hammered a 12mm 12 point on
to get them out, fitted new bolts so not bothered about damaging the old ones.
also found the nuts on the old ball joints were imperial sizes.

Yohooo ...... looking at a package in the corner of me office with a front OS half shaft + CV joint.
Thanks to Steven on Dutch Jeepforum ...... for peanuts.
Spannering next weekend : shaft - new discs and pads.

Been interesting in the workshop today.
Apart from seized bolts and inadequate tools to deal with that fact.
Got there eventually.....hub off ......shaft out ....... shaft in ..... na na no go ..... new shaft 1 inch too long :017:
Ended up transferring the good CV joint onto my my shaft. Try doing that without the proper boot clips :011:
Who the fark would have thought of that :icon_toilet:
Anyway all good now, quiet CV joint and new dics and pads.
Off to the next challenge.....some drop links & ball joints I guess, but have to let my hand heal a bit first :icon_rolleyes:
