:017:Does anyone know what this is for? It bolts to the left hand chasis to the rear of the brake limiter and alongside the gearbox. It isnt connected to anything so what is missing?[attachment=1][attachment=2]

I may be wrong but i believe its for the auto box selector shifter on left hand drives when they are column mounted and there would be one of those on the engine or gearbox as well with a shaft between them and a linkage to the autoboxes selector.
My right hand drive cj8s is floor mounted and presumably your auto is as well and therefore it is not used but has still been installed :017:.

Similar thing on xj for hi lo transfer box selector linkage, could be wrong though :greggmo:

That is correct, although not very clear here it is on a left hand drive with the linkage[attachment=1]

I have column shift and 2 leftys so I guess it would be potentially useful at some point if ya dont want it :greggmo:

If you dont have an urgent need I will keep it until I finish the rebuild just in case it acts as spacer or something essential (sods law). If you do find an urgent need just let me know and its yours.
