Title: Air Filter - oiled or dry

So I may be opening a can of worms.. but general opinion on a replacement hi-flow OEM air filter...
Dry panel or oiled? Is there any truth in oiled ones causing sensor grief, any experiences etc?

I'm running a K&N with no problems, if your using your Jeep in dusty locations then its a must In my books

OE paper and change at manufacturer's intervals unless you're going across the Sahara.

Also worth noting you can change filters too often, when the filters are new they are more open and need some dirt in them to filter properly, this is because if they made the filters to filter perfectly straight away then they would soon block up, its a balance.

Not often I get positive about.....snake oil and kings new clothes bollix but.......

after a late teens and such putting pancake filters on everything we all owned only to achieve more induction noise and possibly a leaner mixture..........

Jump forward to Jeep ownership......I put a Turbo city Kand N Filter induction system on the YJ ( bought from FTE) way back in 2001 up at Tong  and with lowered tyre pressures and a trip to get the beer on the road to Bradford I definitely noticed a good hike in power around 2000 to 2500 on the YJ...... Cant be bad.... MPG the same .....
 Only got it to get the plot out the water and high up in the engine bay so more oooomph was a bonus.....

Paper ones do tend to filter better (trap smaller particles).
