How do I identify which axles are fitted to my 1996 ZJ guys?
-
if its standard think they are 30 front/35 rear but not 100% sure
-
Dana 30 front, Dana 35 rounded cover with rubber fill plug or Dana 44 more octagonal cover with metal fill plug.
For more info on your Jeep you can also contact Jeep with your VIN and ask for a build sheet. Click the send an email link...

Thanks for that link, will mail `em.
Rear axle has a rubber plug, front is metal plug
-
30 front, 35 rear it is then. They will show differently on the build sheet which may take Jeep a few days to get back to you. they should be something like 181 FBI Front axle and 194 RBI rear axle. The numbers are the ring gear diameters in mm.

Tried sending Jeep an email, but apparently I need a state and a valid zip code, but theres no allowance if I`m UK based???
Probably just being thick here!

I got the build sheets for our XJ and TJ from there, with a false ZIP code (90210!), random state, and explained in a message that I'm in the UK :003:
-
Thats what I did too!
Cheers

I was going to tell you to use any ZIP/State yesterday but couldn't sign in on my mobile as I couldn't remember my password.
