afternoon chaps and chappette's
2 quick questions
the tyre and wheel combo i was looking at has fell to the wayside as im gonna stick with the wheels i already got.
what size tyre could i go up to on my 3in pro comp lifted cherokee??
(sorry I'm sure its been asked a million times but different sites give different sizes and info)
how easy is it to replace the seal on the rear diff where the prop shaft enters ?? i'm not too bad weilding the spanners but no expert!!

31x1050x15 are what i have on mine with a 3" lift.......

fairly easy take the prop off undo the big nut that holds the yoke on, pry out the old seal (these can be stubbon) and gently tap the new seal in, reattach the yoke and prop. jobs a good un.

Back to the tyres hoping to do a lot more off road than i have so far, but still need to do a bit of road work.
mud tyre or all terrain ??
suspect mud will look better

wheels are five spoke alloy " grizzlys" ..i think
dont know if that makes a difference

i run muds on mine all the time, you just got to drive it with a bit more respect in the wet......

T'is what I run on mine too.
You may have to tweek the steering stops a little, but then you may not.
Just gone from ATs to muds on mine. They make all the difference off road. Like KD said, you just have to be a bit gentle with them in the wet on the black stuff.

after a few phone calls managed to find some
Falcon LA/TA 31-10-15 at £76 per wheel fitted
not getting much joy on the net looking tho
anybody heard of them ??

Greggmo is running Cooper Discoverer STTs too. Got to say they are 'kin awesome on and off road. The compound is such that you get loads of grip even on wet roads. I would highly recommend them.

finally got me truck back from lift with new 31" mud boots :cry: :cry:
is this the start of empty pockets for me now ?????
am i going to need to sell my soul to keep it running ?????

I don't think it's likely to be the u-bolts that have caused the spring to turn, but I could be wrong. They may just need tightening up. One of mine tends to shift over time and needs to be knocked back into place every now and then. I assume you mean the 'helper' leaf which is only held by the centre location bolt.

if the helper leaf i the bottom one that is straight and around 12 - 18 inch long, then that is right .
the u bolts came about when i sent photos to the garage (who fitted) who then spoke to supplier who said they dropped a b****ck by sending wrong bolts ..
all i did was drive up the M18 , and down a dirt track ..
so it doesnt really fill me with off road confidence
within hours a wrecker was on on its way ..
so at least its getting sorted

I've got the 3" Procomp lift and BFG MT 31x10.5's on my xj and it's absolutely fine. Tyres rub on full lock but that's it...
I'd be surprised if the u-bolts were wrong, explorer were great when I ordered from them and everything was all boxed up together as a kit.
