Title: Brake disc shields...
Post by: The Transporter on January 11, 2013, 11:51:04 PM
Well I finally got round to replacing the Universal Joints on the front drive shafts and was pleasantly surprised how simple a job it was... I took the opportunity to replace the front springs for the +2 inch coils that I bought fron XJ Matt some time ago but as I finished fitting the OS brake caliper I realised that I had forgotten to fit the shield that goes round the disc.... I suppose that it directs air on to the disc to aid cooling but would the missing shield be an issue come MOT time if the inspector was being a pedantic pain? I can't really see it and I know that most of you would say that it is only 5 bolts to sort it out but I am a lazy git

Thanks James, my thoughts too... Just didn't want to bin them only to discover that they were required... I'll leave off the NS one when I reassemble that side tomorrow
