Hi i recently bought a 2008 wrangler Sahara diesel. The guy I bought it from told me his sons had got the inside really dirty so he had the inside cleaned ( there was evidence of this, including damp carpets).
Since owning the car I have come across a few issues that I hope someone may be able to help me with:
1) the front near side (electric) window doesn't work ( I was aware of this when I bought it). You press the switch and nothing happens.
2) the ESP light has come on (flashing) intermittently but doesn't seem to affect how the Jeep drives (unless your using cruise control, then it deactivates it).
3) I filled it up with diesel, turned on the ignition, I got a warning chime, 2 warning lights came on, the engine symbol and the red lightening bolt in reversed brackets )z(, the engine would not turn over or start.i checked on the Internet and found a comment on a forum stating that the fuel cap may not be on correctly after removing and replacing it several times the problem was resolved.
4) at about 65mph + on the motor way you get a really loud wind noise from the top middle of the windscreen/ roof area but no actual draft into the Jeep.
5) Finally one of the previous owners has replaced the standard stereo with a badly fitting thing, where the satnav doesn't work, reversing camera is unusable, well it's just rubbish. Can anyone recommend a replacement that incorporates satnav, reversing camera, phone, iPod connector etc.
I would be grateful for any help, thanks Richard

Welcome to the club.
Although I own one, I get most of my info from the American sites , although they can't help with the diesel engine.
I fitted one of the Jeep MyGig radios, although the sat nav is out of date, and no chance of getting an update. I fitted an aftermarket adapter which allows me to add my own reversing camera and possibly another 2 cameras as well. I still prefer to use TomTom for navigation though.
The Jeep has the aerodynamics of a brick, so you will get wind noise. The lack of insulation on the roof means it takes a long time to get the vehicle warm in winter and cool in summer. Also you can get condensation on the roof, although using the screen demister/aircon mode helps reduce this. I'm looking at maming my own insulation from polystyrene wall/ceiling tiles.

Right I finally sorted it myself!
The front nearside window was a minor wiring problem. That now works fine.
I removed the roof and the seal had dropped so I sorted that and refitted the roof. That's a million times better
The intermittent warning lights were down to the last owner getting carried away washing the carpets and getting the wiring wet.
God knows what the fuel cap issue was but I have since found other people who have had the same thing happen. I suppose you should always check the fuel cap is on correctly.
As for the stereo well I'm still looking for a replacement.
Ivanidea thanks for the advice

Sounds like you're on your way to getting it sorted. Just a warning that the roof can leak on this model so check the damp carpets aren't actually from water leaking in
