Post by: Roberts588 on February 03, 2013, 09:41:36 AM
Hi guys, I've got a 1999 XJ 4.0l orvis.

Had a few problems with it since I bought it in September 2012 but I managed to sort them myself. BUT I have one left that is bugging me something stupid!

My heater only blows trough defrost!!!!!

Anyone experienced this?

I've changed the switch, relay, the knob... Still carnt figure it out!

This happened to mum's 4.0 TJ (I assume very similar to the XJ), and a vacuum hose had popped off the intake manifold.

Popped it back on and all was well.

check the air reservoir ( white tank (plastic)) behind n/s headlamp and make sure after running the engine that there is actually some vacuum in it by pulling the hose of and listeing for it to suck in the air
