Hi guys, I've got a 1999 XJ 4.0l orvis.
Had a few problems with it since I bought it in September 2012 but I managed to sort them myself. BUT I have one left that is bugging me something stupid!
My heater only blows trough defrost!!!!!
Anyone experienced this?
I've changed the switch, relay, the knob... Still carnt figure it out!

vaccuum leak ?
-
How do I check for that?
Easy fix?
-
This happened to mum's 4.0 TJ (I assume very similar to the XJ), and a vacuum hose had popped off the intake manifold.
Popped it back on and all was well.
See the photos on this page:

Just check that and it's all connected. Really bugging me!!

check the air reservoir ( white tank (plastic)) behind n/s headlamp and make sure after running the engine that there is actually some vacuum in it by pulling the hose of and listeing for it to suck in the air

Will do!
Just seen on some US forum it could be a blend door or the blend door?
Dash out job?
-
not on an xj, blend doors problems are on zj/wj I beleive but may be wrong!
