Title: Help with Cj7 Carb (Pic included)
Post by: IrishKenCJ7 on March 15, 2013, 10:55:18 PM
I have this Cj7 I got for peanuts last year. I'm trying to fix the carb and know feck all.
Anyway...
What type of carb is this?
The black arrows point to the butterfly thingys but they seem to be open by default.
Not till I pull on the red arrowed thingy in the blue direction does it,
Should there be some spring/cable pulling the red thingy towards firewall to keep the butterfly thingys closed.
When I put my foot on the accelarator the cable correctly moves in the yellow direction but Im sure the other thingys should move also.

Apologies for all my technical jargon :)
Is there an online manual for this carb or some instructions.
I might tackle it in the morning.

Any help much apprecited,
Ken

My wild guess is that they are the choke butterflys. Needs a cable attaching for use when cold starting ....

But like I say, its a wild guess.

On some carbs those butterflies are controlled by a vacumn line..what does that small black hose in the pic attach to?
