Title: It lives and breathes again but ......
Post by: Bulldog67 on March 17, 2013, 05:40:17 PM
New battery for the Chief today, bit of problem waking the old boy up but slung some fuel straight down its throat and bingo, fired up straight away and runs luverly  :greggmo:

But

Carb is black with soot, blacker than a very black thing - and unless my limited mechanics brain is more limited than I realised, I dont think that is right, so any ideas?

Cheers gents

check the plugs for colour, if they are black too the lean up the mix, worth a run through with carb cleaner too

carb was rebuilt, and then went to a tuners as recommended by RodsnSods  :jpshakehead:

Use the type that don't need spanners :003:
Either a spray or fuel additive would be a good start
