-
I have to ask..........why not a petrol?
-
you would do better buying an LPG petrol one..........just a thought!
-
get my derv cheap
-
so whats wrong with a 2.5td
-
UNLESS it's been very well looked after (oil, filters and coolant changed Religiously) The 2.5 VM is known to be a bit crappy.
-
nowt, just the 4 ltr is a lot more lively & better offroad....
the 2.5TD is tough & reliable (but prone to head problems as with all VM diesels)
the earlier Limited models have a few more luxurys & toys.....
make sure you get service history!
check for saggy rear springs, cos if its done a lot of towing, they will be!!
-
Looking at a 1996 fsh 98,000mls
-
If possible go for as late as possible 2.5TD ie Post 1998....
Earlier VM's diesels could be problematical if not properly serviced after some of the initial service intervals
The later design engines were I believe better
THere's a place in Chesterfield? who specialises in working on VM's tho
Check the power steering/ aircon unit as they can be a bitch to sort out, ditto starter motor if it plays up
-
Ooops as usual KD's dived in shirt first......
-
but they dont float do they Stew?
-
No but then again the owners don't normally go around in shirts the Rubettes would have been ashamed to wear going 'Oh bugger my pulleys broke'........
