Title: Middle Box on a WJ

Afternoon All
I have a WJ 4.0 petrol and was wondering if I needed the middle exhaust box as its blowing a tad and relieved itself of its first skin. Ive taken the middle box off a TD Musso before resulting in a better sound etc. So the question is does it need it plus how loud will it be and will the MOT chaps not be happy if I replaced the box with a straight piece of pipe.
As always all assistance/knowledge greatly appreciated

middle exhaust, change for a cherry bomb, get some nice sounds
