Not exactly advanced fabrication, more of a bodge help request:
What are the options for dealing with severely seized brake bleed nipples? I've heated, penetrating sprayed, ground nice new hex flats onto the edges where it was rounded off but no chance.
Drill out, tap and fit new?? Will any replacements fit?
I can't afford new calipers immediately, want to get it to Breakout and maybe after that fit better calipers anyway - but there''s no time for that fabrication now.

I had seized front, brake nipple and nothing would shift it....... I welded a 1 foot piece of 3 mm flat to it so that it acted like a welded on wrench....... Bugger came undone a treat....
then got on the phone to Lighties for a next day delivery......... :icon_super:

Remove the caliper, wedge it so that you can press the brake pedal to bleed without the piston popping out, tip the caliper 'till the brake hose connection is the highest point and bleed by losening and tightening the brake hose connection....
Alternatively if you have air in the piston chamber rather than the pipework, do as above, losen the brake pipe connection on the caliper and push in the piston with a G cramp.....

As the nipple has a centre hole already, id drill it out, tap it and replace. Sounds easy when you say it quick :jpshakehead:

I'd go with CB..not so much mess that way.

Good tips, in the short time (tonight) I might go with transporter's method but will then replace with new nipples as per the drill & tap method.
WW - your welding is impressive to hold that force on such a small area :greggmo:

Turned the wick up to what I do 6mm plate with........... :icon_twisted:

Or remove the caliper, grip the nipple in a vice and turn the caliper to remove it. means fluid all over but gets the nipple out a treat.

I've always managed with blowtorch and molegrips on them.

done that one

These are fooked but will try the vice trick before smashing them to tiny pieces with a sledge hammer.

A method that as worked for me in the past is to hammer on the next size down half inch drive 12 spline socket, somehow the tapping in force on a bolt can also help it undo...

How I did mine
Heat the fuckers up, then wack a 7mm deep socket over them..... Quick snap with the ratchet and there off!

Worked a treat, big thanks.
