got myself into a bit of a corner, with the CJ parked so I can only get to the one wheel I have got as far as getting the front disc/hub off and the inner bearing is totally fucked.
recon I can get the old race off in situ but am I on a hiding doing that? will I be able to get the new one on without removing the shaft and using a press?

Think I may be leading to a complete front axle rebuild

That has seen better days!
I dare you to take the diff cover off now :icon_twisted:
-
my biggest problem is it is parked up against a wall, was going to do one wheel bearing and then turn it around, so now have a 3 wheeled jeep I can't move or get to the other side wheel :banghead:

Wheel skates and an axle stand. Simple

Wheel skates and an axle stand. Simple
if only that easy, full length wall to the right and rear, and back half of the left side and a 4" step up in front .
stripped down, cleaned and all the parts now ordered and should be here tuesday so will build up this side & give the diff a once over and then take it over the workshop to finish the left side.

all back together now, Thanks to BD for hub shaft, all new bearings and seals. just the other side to do now.
and diff oil looks OK too

mot failure jobs done today...
off side wheel and spindle bearings and seals changed (already done near side)
issue with brake light staying on fixed (just had to bend back a tab that got bent when I changed the column, not that easy for a fat bloke)
washers sorted (no water) :banghead:
Just leaves one job to do on the day of the MOT.................... the hand brake
